Young people should be at the forefront of global change and innovation. Empowered, they can be key agents for development and peace. If, however, they are left on society’s margins, all of us will be impoverished. Let us ensure that all young people have every opportunity to participate fully in the lives of their societies.”
— Kofi Annan
Under your shoulders. Dear young people of the entire world, weigh the responsibility to transform tomorrow’s world into a society where peace, harmony and fraternity reign.
— Bishop Carlos Belo
Guard your light and protect it. Move it forward into the world and be fully confident that if we connect light to light to light, and join the lights together of the one billion young people in our world today, we will be enough to set our whole planet aglow.
— Hafsat Abiola
Look guys, how people trust you as a young generation to build a better future for yourself, your family and nation. As an agent of change, we have to consider what we can do for this country, like a quote ” ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.” Lets, make a changes, a movement to make a peace.
A common question will be ‘Why we?’ and I should ask you “Why not? Aren’t we Indonesian’s? Aren’t we who are /were supposed to pull our nation from this drudgery? Let’s work guys, work for our nation, work for our people. There is no dearth for opportunity once you want to make an impact upon others life!
One reason for all the government policies failing is lack of innovation, and who will innovate? The 60 year old politicians? Or the our mammoth paralysed bureaucracy? It’s us who are going to do it, apply it , it’s our model that will be changing the world we live! we can take up responsibilty and bring about change with our hard work, innovation and imagination.
You dont need to be a full-time social worker, but even few hours a week brings about tremendous change. Blasting politicians and ‘liking’ some social service community page on facebook wont bring about any diffrence let’s fold up our sleeves and jump in
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time”. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
Wake up guys, it’s our call!!
Youth are the future leaders of any society in the world. The youth has to actively participate in development of any society. Indonesia still is a developing nation and faces lots of basic problems. Indonesia is not able to develop because we haven’t got the right leadership. Corruption and Bureaucracy are prevalent in our society and few powerful families are controlling the country. The youth doesn’t take interest in politics and civil service then I think the youth needs to take part in civil services and politics and make sure that Indonesia gets the right leadership. This is the only way all the problems of Indonesia could be solved and we could develop as a nation.
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world” – Mahatma Gandhi
Martin Luther King once said “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter”.
My message to the youth, that don’t be selfish and worried about your own life. Think about the people and the world around you. As a Muslim and firm believer in God, I believe that on the Day of Judgment, God will question us about the resources we had and how we used it.
I believe a new generation of future leaders is being born in my country and the future looks bright..
